Type Locality and Naming

Along the old channel of the Amu Darya River - Daudan, S. Turkmenistan. A. G. Bliskavka, G. A. Gabrielyants, A. A. Zheleznov et al., 1965 (148, p.84).

Synonym: Daudan Suite, Дауданская св.


Lithology and Thickness

Greenish-gray clays, calcareous in the lower part. Thickness up to 200m.

Conformably overlies the Akchakain Fm

Conformably overlain by the Daryalyk Fm

Regional extent

Lower reaches of the Amu Darya River (Turtkul-Khivinsky district). Correlated with the Beloglin Horizon and Khadum Horizon.

Contains foraminifera - Cibicidoides pseudoungirianus Cushm., Globigerina officinalis Subb. and others.

Belongs to the upper Eocene-lower Oligocene, in the Strat. sl. (444) - to the lower-middle Oligocene, calcareous varieties presumably to the upper Eocene.
